Somacomics is a young adult/adult focused indie/small press comics publisher. Somacomics is also an imprint of Lumicpress, a children’s publisher. Here at Somacomics, we’re all about publishing character-driven stories that are, primarily romance, but focus on the story first. We aim to create works that resonate with older audiences, satisfies the reader’s emotions, delivers gripping plots, and features unforgettable characters.

What Makes Somacomics Different From Other Publishers?
Somacomics is creator owned, meaning it’s a publishing company created by a fellow comic creator ( Boniae, creator of Four Corners.) Right now, Somacomics is currently a small press publisher, meaning we acquire less than ten titles a year and we have less than 5 employees. Despite our small size, we do have plans to grow, and with that comes the goal that we can provide many opportunities for other talented comic creators.
As a small press publisher that is owned by someone who makes comics, we understand many of the issues that comic creators may face with larger publishers. These challenges often include low print royalties, limited visibility in crowded digital marketplaces, and short-lived marketing support once a book is released. At Somacomics, we aim to address these issues directly by prioritizing fairer models, focusing on every series we publish, and developing long-term connections between readers, creators, and their stories.
We aim to embrace digital comics in addition to offering printed titles by using crowdfunding for some, as well as eventually venturing into light novels and games as we progress as a press.
